Wendy Zuniga is a dynamic communications strategist and storyteller committed to building bridges between communities and empowering Latine voices in Minnesota. As COPAL’s Communications Director, she leads with intention, weaving together strategy, culture, and community impact. Wendy brings over a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership, community engagement, and marketing, with a sharp eye for design, content, and digital campaigns that move people to action.
Her professional journey began in the world of healthcare, where she advanced equity and inclusion through strategic communication at Children’s Hospital. She later co-founded MNLatino, a media and networking platform that spotlighted Latino professionals through events and targeted marketing campaigns. Wendy also served as Director for the Latino Caucus Movimiento.
Born in Orange County, California, and raised in Minnesota, Wendy’s identity is rooted in the experience of navigating two worlds. Growing up in an immigrant household while embracing Midwest traditions. She studied Communications at the University of Minnesota and has used her voice and platform to advocate for dignity, joy, and representation.
Outside of her professional life, Wendy is a marathon runner, Spanish poetry lover, and certified yoga instructor focused on self-esteem building for Latina teens and women. She believes that healing, movement, and joy are central to collective liberation. And that marketing, when rooted in truth and purpose, can be a tool for transformation.
