Vivian “Vivi” S., a native of South Minneapolis, embarked on her educational journey by studying public health at the University of Washington in Seattle. However, her dedication to family during the pandemic drew her back to Minneapolis, where she completed her bachelor’s degree in global studies with a focus in health and mobile populations and minors in public health and Spanish at the University of Minnesota.
Driven by a profound desire to give back to her community, Vivi commenced her journey with COPAL as a volunteer, motivated by the intention to support and uplift Latine and immigrant members within her community. Inspired by COPAL’s impactful legislative initiatives and the potential for effecting lasting structural change, she transitioned into an intern role. Following her graduation, Vivi enthusiastically joined COPAL’s team, driven by an unwavering commitment to eliminating barriers and supporting members of her community to achieve autonomy, prosperity, and optimal health.
As a Youth Employment and Career Counselor, Vivi advocates for and guides the youth, aspiring to create pathways for their professional growth and success. In her leisure time, Vivi finds joy in dancing, reading, staying active, and cherishing moments spent with friends.
