Join our team as a Part-Time English Instructor to support adult learners in developing language skills for healthcare careers. Help create engaging lessons and make a meaningful impact.

Job Summary:

We seek a skilled Part-Time 10-12 hours a week English Instructor to develop and deliver specialized curricula for healthcare career preparation and ESL instruction. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in adult education, curriculum design, and ESL methodologies, particularly within healthcare contexts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Design a healthcare-focused English curriculum integrating medical terminology, patient communication, and workplace scenarios, aligning with industry standards for roles like CNAs and medical assistants.
  • Instructional Delivery:
    • Deliver engaging lessons for healthcare career preparation, utilizing interactive methods.
    • Teach intermediate ESL (CASAS Level 3) and CNA-specific conversational English (Level 2), preparing students for assessments.
  • Student Support & Assessment: Monitor student progress, provide individualized feedback, and adapt teaching strategies.
  • Collaboration & Professional Development: Collaborate with healthcare educators and Workers’ center staff and participants.

Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • Minimum 2 years of ESL teaching experience (adult learners).
    • Proven experience in curriculum design, preferably in healthcare or vocational training.
    • Knowledge of CASAS standards and CNA certification requirements.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Preferred:
    • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish).
    • Experience with online and in-person teaching.

Work Environment:

  • Classroom/online setting with diverse adult learners.
