Carolina Perdomo was born in Metapán, El Salvador and is a devoted pastor who is deeply committed to community service.
Since 2000, Carolina has served as a pastor at the Church of the Nazarene alongside her husband, David. Her pastoral training was completed at the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Costa Rica.
In 2016, Carolina and her husband embarked on a missionary journey to California, where they dedicated ten years to supporting the Latine community before relocating to Minnesota. Through these experiences, she has keenly observed and understood the challenges faced by her community in this country, motivating her to work directly with local families. Carolina actively engaged in volunteering with COPAL since 2020, participating in events within the Rochester area.
Since October 2022, Carolina has been an integral part of Copal's staff, contributing to outreach and phone banking efforts to underscore the importance of the Latine vote in Minnesota. Subsequently, she assumed the role of Engagement & Vaccination Assistant for Rochester and nearby cities.

Cecilia, a native of Buenos Aires with roots in the picturesque landscapes of Bariloche, Argentina, embodies a lifelong commitment to empowerment and community betterment. Beyond her professional life, Clara serves as a Board Member of the Minnesota Council on Latino Affairs, representing Congressional District 5. She also serves on the Board of the United Nations Association of Minnesota and holds a significant role as a Communications Lead for the U.S. APEC 2023 (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation).

At COPAL, Claudia spearheads initiatives at the Centro de Trabajadores Primero De Mayo, launched in May 2021 in South Minneapolis. Outside of education and communications, Danny frequently enjoys cooking, experimenting with new recipes, and spending quality time with loved ones. Born in El Salvador, David embarked on a life-changing journey, which led him to marry Lady Carolina Sanabria in 2000, forming the cornerstone of a loving family with three children, ages; 22, 15, and 10 years.
A pastor of the Church of the Nazarene since 2001, David's journey of service transcends mere religious confines. In 2006, he embarked on a transformative move to Sacramento, CA, immersing himself in pastoral work within the Latino community. It was here that he recognized the formidable challenges facing the Latino populace, galvanizing his resolve to engage in entrepreneurial endeavors and extend aid to Latino families.
The year 2016 marked a pivotal relocation for David and his family, moving from California to Rochester, MN. It was here, amidst the backdrop of being minorities within their communities, that David bore witness to the pressing challenges faced by the Latino population. Embracing the vision of empowering his community, he actively supported and participated in events advocating for the passage of licensing laws beneficial to all.
Driven by a pastor's vision to establish a resource center catering to the community's needs, David perceived an opportunity to effect tangible change. In October 2020, he embarked on a new chapter in his journey, joining COPAL as a Community Health Educator & Outreach member. She received her Bachelor's in Languages with a specialization in Teaching because she believes that we can have a social impact by helping others improve their knowledge in a creative way. Hazel has experience in teaching and loves to support her community with projects. She also has experience in Health and Wellness and supporting different healthcare campaigns with the community.
She challenges herself to build long-term relationships with the community and to find better strategies to overcome difficult situations.

Kaitlyn grew up in Long Prairie, Minnesota, and attended college at Minnesota State University-Mankato. She graduated with a BA in Spanish, minor in linguistics, and a TEFL certificate. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dog and spending time with her loved ones. She began working at Copal because she wanted to make a lasting change in the lives of the Latine community. In her hometown of Long Priaire, there seemed to be a large cultural gap and she saw firsthand the disparities that the Latine community faced. By working for Copal, she hopes to help bridge the socioeconomic gap and create equal opportunities for everyone.

A devoted wife to Emilio Menjívar for over 21 years and a mother to two sons, Kenneth and David, Lourdes embarks on each day's journey, fervently striving to leave an indelible mark in the space where God has placed her.
In 2004, Lourdes embarked on a transformative journey to the United States, laden with expectations and dreams held close to her heart. Settling in North Mankato for the past 20 years, she laid the foundation for a new beginning, epitomizing the resilience and unwavering determination encapsulated in her motto, 'Advance in the crowd.'
Lourdes and her husband, impassioned pastors and founders of Le Sueur’s Lamb of God Church, have been the cornerstone of the Latino community for fifteen impactful years. Their unwavering commitment is further echoed through their founding of PUSH (United Hispanic Services Project) in Southern Minnesota, particularly through the influential Latino Back to School Program.
Not content with just one avenue of service, Lourdes extended her reach as a Community Outreach Worker at VINE Faith and Action, diligently serving and empowering Hispanic seniors across the Mankato, St. Peter, and Le Sueur areas. With a focus on nonprofit accounting for over two decades, Luis has become a revered figure in the industry, showcasing a stellar track record that underscores his proficiency.
During his impressive tenure, Luis spent 12 pivotal years at a regional CPA firm, serving as an outsourced Controller and Auditor for a spectrum of nonprofit organizations, ranging from revenues of $500,000 to $8 million. His expertise extends beyond the nonprofit sector, having also excelled as a Financial Controller for three private for-profit companies, one of which bestowed upon him the dual role of Director of Operations.

Melody Arteaga was born and raised in Southern California, to Mexican immigrant parents. She moved to Minnesota to attend Macalester College where she studied mathematics and computer science. She is currently earning her master's in library and information sciences from Saint Catherine University.
Through her experiences as a youth worker, mentor, and facilitator, Melody has seen firsthand the power of young people in changing systems and creating more equitable communities. Francisco E. Segovia is a visionary leader with a distinguished career spanning over two decades, dedicated to fostering collaborative networks and alliances across diverse communities. With an unwavering commitment to effecting meaningful change, Francisco has devoted his career to dismantling barriers that constrict opportunities for individuals.
For fourteen impactful years, Francisco served as the director of the Waite House Center in South Minneapolis, igniting transformative change by harnessing his passion, foresight, and extensive experience. His tenure was marked by the facilitation of grassroots leadership development, the provision of asset-based services, the cultivation of self-sufficiency, and fervent advocacy for systemic change at local and state levels.
Driven by an unyielding passion for justice and equity, Francisco embarked on a new chapter, founding COPAL, a member-based Latine organization. Under his guidance, COPAL has evolved into an influential force, dedicated to pushing for more equitable outcomes and assisting thousands of Latines across Minnesota in diverse areas. Through their efforts, COPAL has played a pivotal role in passing significant legislation, becoming a trusted and influential voice for Latine communities across the state and nationally.
In addition to his role at COPAL, Francisco currently serves on the board of TakeAction Minnesota, contributing his insights and expertise to further the organization's mission. Cecilia, a native of Buenos Aires with roots in the picturesque landscapes of Bariloche, Argentina, embodies a lifelong commitment to empowerment and community betterment. Her academic journey began with a fervent pursuit of biology in her homeland, where she cultivated a deep understanding of the natural world.
Driven by her passion for equitable access to technology, Cecilia ventured to Venezuela, pioneering an organization dedicated to liberating technological resources. Her journey later led her to the United States, where she immersed herself in a transformative two-year period in Chicago. Here, she honed her linguistic proficiency in English while concurrently leveraging her expertise to educate and empower underserved communities in computer literacy and repair through a non-profit initiative.
Now a devoted mother and esteemed community organizer, Cecilia's focus has shifted to enhancing the educational landscape in Minneapolis. Her unwavering dedication to advocating for improved public schools mirrors her aspiration to pave the way for her children and the broader community to thrive amidst equitable opportunities.

Danny was born in San Salvador, El Salvador and is a passionate communicator, educator, and advocate for positive change. He received his Bachelor’s in Communication Sciences because he believes in effective communication to understanding, empathy, and progress. Danny has experience in teaching and coaching and has sitness the transformative power of education. He also has experience in social work and supporting various organizations in El Salvador.
Outside of education and communications, Danny frequently enjoys cooking, experimenting with new recipes, and spending quality time with loved ones. Danny values how food brings people together, transcending language barriers and nurturing connections. As a family man, his son serves as a constant source of inspiration, motivating him to excel in all his endeavors.

Born in El Salvador, David embarked on a life-changing journey, which led him to marry Lady Carolina Sanabria in 2000, forming the cornerstone of a loving family with three children, ages; 22, 15, and 10 years.
A pastor of the Church of the Nazarene since 2001, David's journey of service transcends mere religious confines. In 2006, he embarked on a transformative move to Sacramento, CA, immersing himself in pastoral work within the Latino community. It was here that he recognized the formidable challenges facing the Latino populace, galvanizing his resolve to engage in entrepreneurial endeavors and extend aid to Latino families.
The year 2016 marked a pivotal relocation for David and his family, moving from California to Rochester, MN. It was here, amidst the backdrop of being minorities within their communities, that David bore witness to the pressing challenges faced by the Latino population. Embracing the vision of empowering his community, he actively supported and participated in events advocating for the passage of licensing laws beneficial to all.
Driven by a pastor's vision to establish a resource center catering to the community's needs, David perceived an opportunity to effect tangible change. In October 2020, he embarked on a new chapter in his journey, joining COPAL as a Community Health Educator & Outreach member. This transition represented not just a role change but a comforting experience for David, as he found solace in contributing to the overall well-being of his community. David's current role is Field Organizer in Southeast of Minnesota.

Hazel was born in El Salvador. She received her Bachelor's in Languages with a specialization in Teaching because she believes that we can have a social impact by helping others improve their knowledge in a creative way. Hazel has experience in teaching and loves to support her community with projects. She also has experience in Health and Wellness and supporting different healthcare campaigns with the community.
She challenges herself to build long-term relationships with the community and to find better strategies to overcome difficult situations.
In her leisure time, she loves to spend time with her family and connect with nature. She continues learning to have a broad knowledge to share with her loved ones. As a young woman, her motivation is her family and building a better future for new generations.

Luis stands as a seasoned accounting professional with an illustrious career spanning 34 years, marked by an unwavering commitment to excellence. With a focus on nonprofit accounting for over two decades, Luis has become a revered figure in the industry, showcasing a stellar track record that underscores his proficiency.
During his impressive tenure, Luis spent 12 pivotal years at a regional CPA firm, serving as an outsourced Controller and Auditor for a spectrum of nonprofit organizations, ranging from revenues of $500,000 to $8 million. His expertise extends beyond the nonprofit sector, having also excelled as a Financial Controller for three private for-profit companies, one of which bestowed upon him the dual role of Director of Operations.
Luis's wealth of experience is complemented by a profound understanding of GAAP and internal controls, coupled with a robust command of various accounting systems and software. He has not only implemented but also utilized and trained others on platforms such as Sage, QuickBooks, FundEZ, and Intacct web-based accounting software.
A native New Yorker, Luis embarked on a transformative journey to Minnesota in 1983, accompanying his wife, a Minnesota native, and embarked on his accounting education at the Minnesota School of Business, earning an associate’s degree in Accounting. Rebeca proudly embraces her heritage as the daughter of immigrants. Being a sibling to a DACA recipient with parents from Tamaulipas, Mexico, Rebeca stands as an unwavering advocate for her family and all families affected by detrimental policies rooted in xenophobia, racism, ableism, and the overarching structures of white supremacy.
Navigating the complexities of the immigration system firsthand, Rebeca became acutely aware of the manifold challenges faced by immigrant families. Notably, she identified a critical gap: the absence of financial education within immigrant communities. Driven by her commitment to effecting change, Rebeca pursued and successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Bethel University. Motivated by her community's resilience, she aspires to further her understanding of justice and equity, empowering immigrant communities to assert greater agency and personal sovereignty over their financial matters.
In November 2023, Rebeca participated in the Community Engagement Exchange Program in Romania, supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State and implemented by IREX. This transformative program enabled Rebeca to bridge cultural divides, fostering connections that transcend geographical boundaries, and amplifying her ability to effect change on an international scale.
Rebeca passionately advocates for the rights of Latines, DACA recipients, and TPS holders, serving as an ardent advocate, frequent speaker, and mentor. Her commitment surpasses advocacy, as she actively participates in mentoring initiatives and addresses diverse forums to uplift and empower marginalized communities. Furthermore, Rebeca serves on the Board of Directors for HCA-MN, a statewide coalition devoted to promoting comprehensive, affordable, and high-quality health care for all Minnesotans.

Brenda Gutiérrez, a Minneapolis native and proud daughter of immigrant parents, brings a heartfelt commitment to her role as an Adult Career and Employment Counselor at COPAL. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology and Family Studies from the University of St. Thomas in May 2021, marking the commencement of her journey in serving her community.
Prior to her tenure at COPAL, Brenda dedicated herself to the mental health field, specifically as a behavior practitioner, where she skillfully worked with children diagnosed with Autism. Her experience in Applied Behavior Analysis therapy equipped her with a profound understanding of diverse family dynamics, catering to families from various cultural backgrounds.
Driven by a genuine passion for community service, Brenda is thrilled to channel her expertise and compassion into her role at COPAL. Her dedication to understanding and addressing the unique needs of the immigrant community drives her commitment to providing invaluable guidance and support.

At the tender age of 17, Claudia embarked on a transformative journey, immigrating to the United States. Her experiences as an immigrant forged an unbreakable resolve to champion the rights of TPS holders and undocumented immigrants, becoming a defining mission in her life.
Formerly a pivotal organizer with the National TPS Alliance (NTPSA), Claudia's commitment to rectifying the injustices faced by marginalized communities knows no bounds. Her journey led her to the heart of Minnesota, drawn by the compelling mission of COPAL's Workers' Center.
At COPAL, Claudia spearheads initiatives at the Centro de Trabajadores Primero De Mayo, launched in May 2021 in South Minneapolis. This center stands as a beacon of hope, rallying Latino workers to reclaim lost wages, confront employment discrimination, access vital unemployment benefits, and forge pathways to vocational training and job placements.
Claudia recognizes the profound hurdles that impede our community's path to a dignified existence. She is unwavering in her commitment to dismantle oppressive systems and challenge exploitative working conditions, making tangible strides in reshaping the narrative for marginalized workers in Minneapolis.

Hailing from Veracruz, Mexico, Eduardo's immigrant journey is intricately interwoven with a profound love for the arts. His exploration of graphic arts, particularly screen printing, led him to forge meaningful connections within social movements, collaborating with the Northland Poster Collective under the tutelage of esteemed artist Ricardo Levins Morales.
Eduardo brings over eight years of invaluable experience in social work, notably contributing to the Minnesota Goodwill-Easter Seals Father Project. His tenure in social work has honed his skills in community engagement, fostering community power-building, leadership development, advocacy, and education.
A fervent advocate for social change, Eduardo's passion for organizing is palpable. He champions causes aimed at amplifying community voices, fostering leadership, and advocating for underrepresented groups. In mid-2023, Santiago made his way to Minnesota, previously serving in Virginia, where he dedicated his efforts to organizing day laborers and establishing a secure workers' center. His commitment extended to ensuring labor and human rights were safeguarded within these communities. Moreover, his tenure in Virginia showcased his dedication to the welfare of Latino communities, emphasizing public health initiatives.
Santiago's impactful career began in Colombia, where he collaborated with various marginalized groups, including women's collectives, LGBTIQ+ communities, homeless individuals, and rural populations. His endeavors focused on curbing environmental and social impacts arising from industrial practices, advocating for sustainable and equitable community development.
He identifies himself as an ardent advocate for human rights, social justice, and gender equity. Vivian "Vivi" Siegar, a native of South Minneapolis, embarked on her educational journey by studying public health at the University of Washington in Seattle. However, her dedication to family during the pandemic drew her back to Minneapolis, where she completed her bachelor's degree in global studies with a focus in health and mobile populations and minors in public health and Spanish at the University of Minnesota.
Driven by a profound desire to give back to her community, Vivi commenced her journey with COPAL as a volunteer, motivated by the intention to support and uplift Latine and immigrant members within her community. Inspired by COPAL's impactful legislative initiatives and the potential for effecting lasting structural change, she transitioned into an intern role. Following her graduation, Vivi enthusiastically joined COPAL's team, driven by an unwavering commitment to eliminating barriers and supporting members of her community to achieve autonomy, prosperity, and optimal health.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dog and spending time with her loved ones. She began working at Copal because she wanted to make a lasting change in the lives of the Latine community. In her hometown of Long Priaire, there seemed to be a large cultural gap and she saw firsthand the disparities that the Latine community faced. By working for Copal, she hopes to help bridge the socioeconomic gap and create equal opportunities for everyone.

Lourdes stands as a beacon of resilience and unwavering commitment, channeling her unwavering passion to make a profound difference in the lives of others. A devoted wife to Emilio Menjívar for over 21 years and a mother to two sons, Kenneth and David, Lourdes embarks on each day's journey, fervently striving to leave an indelible mark in the space where God has placed her.
In 2004, Lourdes embarked on a transformative journey to the United States, laden with expectations and dreams held close to her heart. Settling in North Mankato for the past 20 years, she laid the foundation for a new beginning, epitomizing the resilience and unwavering determination encapsulated in her motto, 'Advance in the crowd.'
Lourdes and her husband, impassioned pastors and founders of Le Sueur’s Lamb of God Church, have been the cornerstone of the Latino community for fifteen impactful years. Their unwavering commitment is further echoed through their founding of PUSH (United Hispanic Services Project) in Southern Minnesota, particularly through the influential Latino Back to School Program.
Not content with just one avenue of service, Lourdes extended her reach as a Community Outreach Worker at VINE Faith and Action, diligently serving and empowering Hispanic seniors across the Mankato, St. Peter, and Le Sueur areas. Today, she stands as an integral part of the COPAL team, eager to contribute more, learn tirelessly, and continue providing invaluable resources to her community.

Regional Director – South Central MN
Carolina Perdomo was born in Metapán, El Salvador and is a devoted pastor who is deeply committed to community service.
Since 2000, Carolina has served as a pastor at the Church of the Nazarene alongside her husband, David. Her pastoral training was completed at the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Costa Rica.
In 2016, Carolina and her husband embarked on a missionary journey to California, where they dedicated ten years to supporting the Latine community before relocating to Minnesota. Through these experiences, she has keenly observed and understood the challenges faced by her community in this country, motivating her to work directly with local families. Carolina actively engaged in volunteering with COPAL since 2020, participating in events within the Rochester area.
Since October 2022, Carolina has been an integral part of Copal's staff, contributing to outreach and phone banking efforts to underscore the importance of the Latine vote in Minnesota. Subsequently, she assumed the role of Engagement & Vaccination Assistant for Rochester and nearby cities.
