COPAL, Comunidades Organizando el Poder y la Acción Latina
The best way to predict the future is to invent it.
We are mobilizing people to bring about transformation and lead social, political, and economic change. We engage 39,000 Latino community stakeholders throughout the state.
Our work addresses the root causes of forced migration due to climate change and extractive economies, green jobs, pollution reduction, and an equitable transition to clean energy.
We promote leadership in Latine communities to adopt a healthy lifestyle, through education, organization, and development of community health promoters in Minnesota.
We seek to increase Latine voter participation and engagement in issues that matter to them.
COPAL continues to work to expand resources in rural areas so that our community can reach them, whether they are local, state, and/or national resources.
COPAL offers a wide range of resources, including educational opportunities, COVID assistance and vaccines, rental assistance and tenant resources, and numerous other support services.
COPAL organizes with Latine workers to recover lost wages, pursues employment discrimination cases, applies for unemployment benefits, and connects them to vocational training and job placement services.
We envision a Minnesota where everyone lives with dignity and respect.
COPAL, Communities Organizing Latine Power and Action, is a member-based organization established in 2018 to improve the quality of life of Latine families. Over the past four years, COPAL has evolved to become a well-known, grassroots power-building, and visionary transnational organization.
